Be careful when ordering your food. You won't see your money again if you want a refund manager/or owner is a money hog.Keep in mind I was working delivering food. Already time was wasted. I changed my mind. I never took a bite nor left the building i saw the manager snatch MY money out of a workers hand. So yea. Therefore this will stay up until you pay up. I had to throw it away because like I said while I was there I had changed my mind

My husband and I eat here frequently and always have such great service. The fajitas are the best in town!

Good food and friendly service. The food is prepared quickly. It has a nice little bar and outside patio as well as comfortable table settings. Great mexican restaurant for family dinner on the fly.

Exceptional service, best Mexican food in Saint Joseph, and very fair prices even on beer. Had lunch here last week and definitely returning this week lol.

Date and I were very impressed with the food and atmosphere. Big props to Miguel for being an extremely attentive and friendly waiter. We can't afford to tip a lot but his service was worth digging deep for.

This was my first time. Was visiting St. Joseph. The margaritas were ok because I feel the bartender was not familiar on how to make them. She was also my server. I asked about some peppers and she brought me 2 whole cold ones in a bowl. The food was ok. I did like the tequila selections

Nice place to eat an nice waitresses

I had excellent food, we called ahead to clarify Covid policy and were thankful the servers wore masks and my daughter and i felt safer enjoying the outdoor patio. Our waitresses was not very happy or friendly but the waitress from the next table was very kind and informative.

Aunt Beck took us to dinner... Love their shrimp/chicken fajita platter... Yum 😋 yum! I also like good guacamole... But...it wasn't as flavorful as my niece Amanda makes... Missing Colorado, now😰😥😞

I would never go to this place again!!!!! I would suggest others not either! We were there yesterday 2/10/18 and 2 out of the 4 plates had foreign object in them. One a hair and the other was like piece of plastic or something. Kind of felt like a suture. DISGUSTING!!!! We requested a manager and he was the most rude little man I have ever dealt with, we barely touched our plates and yes he still made us pay for the two plates that didn't have anything wrong with them...at least nothing found YET!!!!!! Would love to share pic but this thing wont let me. I will continue to try to post pics!! PEOPLE BEWARE!!

Awesome service and no rush to get us out of there even though the seating was limited. Will definitely be coming back here.

Was excited to try this restaurant but now kind of wished we'd gone some place else. The food was okay. Nothing special by any means. What left a not so good taste was our waitress. She seemed as if she hated life and even more so hated waiting on our table. I think we'll certainly be going elsewhere next time we're in town.

It's been awhile since I've ate here but just as great as always. Best taco Tuesday in town all you can eat tacos 7.99 with a sideAlso the waiter was great

Our server wasn't very friendly last night and seemed very distracted. The food was also just ok. We both had tacos.

The Salsa is So Spicey you can't even eat it, the chips were stale, overcooked and hard as a rock. The tamales was old, and in the warmer too long. The beans like soup and hardly any on plate and smothered in white cheese. For 14.00, A Big Waste of Money!!! I'll Never Go Back

This restaurant is a gem. The food was delicious. Everyone in party loved this place. Only thing was we had to flag down waitress to take order at a time when restaurant was empty with 3 occupied tables .

Traveling thru St. Joe, we wanted Mexican food. After driving to 2 other places listed on Google, we came to La Mesa. Very clean, friendly server and the food was excellent! We were stuffed full when finished for $30. Highly recommend.

I literally have never eaten better food in my life. My wife and I have lived in three different states and have eaten at dozens and dozens of mexican restaurants. Never have we ever had such delicious food. Our host checked on us multiple times the manager even came out to check to ensure the food was as fantastic as the service (WHICH IT WAS!) If you are stopping in Saint Joseph or driving through...or even driving 100 miles near by! GO TO LA MESA! You will not be sorry! Fantastic! Cant say it enough!

Lovely, colorful decor. Perfect, festive atmosphere. I ordered shrimp cocktail with guacamole. So yummy. Fresh. Bright.

Waited over 20 minutes after being seated. Never even had our drink order taken or offered anything. The place only had a few customers and ample servers. Just terrible custom service.

This is one of the best restaurants in St. Joseph Mo outstanding customer service everything my husband and I ordered was delicious including adult beverages my waiter was very knowledgeable Patient Polite I wish there was more stars ⭐️ To give very nice peaceful place not expensive great hospitality

Their food was really good and everything was clean, however, my order was messed up, but it wasn't anything major.

My carry out order was incorrect and they took care of it 🤨...with another incorrect order! This used to be my favorite restaurant in St. Joseph Mo. I am extremely disappointed and it will be a while before I order food there again.

Sign says open till 1030. We showed up at 950 and the flipped the sign to "closed" as we walked to the door.

The staff is kind and knowledgeable, the food fantastic, and the drinks are full value and quality. I recommend highly.

Thursday is Kids Eat Free night. We had to ask to have the kids meals taken off and when they did, they only took 2 of the 3 off. Had to point out that we had 3 adults and 3 children with us and they were able to fix it eventually. The food was delicious and the portions were large. I love their fried flour tortilla tacos. Yum.

Have spent the last 3 yrs having my birthday party of 7. This year I'll be 63 and if we can't eat in....Will order and pick up. Wonderful food and our favorite is the Tequalia shrimp.

Pulling into the parking lot was a bit of a labyrinthine affair. We entered as a party of 5 and were quickly seated at our table. Our boy had the shrimp enchiladas which are pictured in the picture. I had the taco salad. The taco salad was quite good and had a delicious cheese sauce. If I had one spot for improvement the drinks could have been brought by a little more frequently. But the prices were very reasonable And the salso they had with the chips on the table was very good.

The service was great but the food not so much. This used to be my favorite place to eat... not so much so more...

Shrimp salad was good with their own made salad dressing. Had like a mango citrus taste and went well with the salad. Margaritas were delicious too!!

Food was great, my first long island iced tea was terrible, manager made me another and it was great. Waitress was friendly and a good waitress, but not a good bar tender. If youre going for drinks dont get a table, sit at the bar. Bar seating is limited.

I went in a couple weeks ago and put our reservations in for our group to eat tonight.. I had a coupon that we're in the paper..I asked the mgr if we could all use a coupon! He said yes, we just couldn't use a buy one get one and a free appetizer at the same time!! Again, I asked him if everyone in the group could use a coupon..he said yes!! Well we had enough coupons for everyone. When time to pay we all have waitress our coupons. She came back and said the mgr said only 1 per group..I asked to speak with him. He came back to our table of 15 and said 1 per group. I told him what I was told and he said 1 per group!! Well we said we would not be back and his response was "OK'!!!!! Then he proceeded to go back up to the bar and air and drink his BEER!!! Food was great and so was our waitress, but we all will NEVER GO BACK!

Hamburger not cooked, rice was mushy, and the fajitas were very bland. The manager didn't even bother to come to our table after waitress let him know the problems.

Really good portions. They have limited seat dine-in now (started this week). You will need to sign in and provide a phone number and how many is in your party. Had the steak quesadilla and a shrimp taco. Very very good.

Great authentic Mexican food. My sister and her roommate shared the Fishbowl Margarita and what a great value it was. Will definitely be going back after payday!

The food was good however, the waiter throwing a tantrum in the middle of restaurant ruined my families dining experience. The waiter obviously had an issue with manager Ramone & threw a salt shaker at the wall. Leaving a large hole in the wall at the restrooms. Then continued to curse in the middle of the restaurant about the manager. When we commented to our waitress that it was unnerving to see such a display another waitress walked by & said she found it entertaining. It really was childish behavior & should have been addressed. Instead they allowed the employee to hang out in the restaurant for quite some time after.
